Common questions
Where is my data?
On your phone, and in your private iCloud if iCloud is on for the app. Nothing is sent to us. See the privacy policy.
How do I get a copy of everything?
Settings → My Data → Download My Data. It makes one file with every event, person, tag, and photo.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → My Data → Delete My Data. It removes everything from the device and shows the welcome again. Download first if you want a copy.
Siri doesn't understand me.
Open the app once after installing so the phrases register, then say "Add a memory in Looking Back". The phrases are listed under Settings → Siri & Shortcuts.
The widget shows sample dates.
Open the app once; the widget updates from your real dates after that.
Describing a moment does nothing.
The describe step uses Apple Intelligence on your phone. On a phone without it, or while it is downloading, the app shows the form instead, and everything else works the same.
